DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

As a DevOps Engineer at Maxaix, you will be responsible for optimizing our software development and IT operations processes. Your primary focus will be to bridge the gap between development and IT, ensuring efficient code deployment, automation, and seamless collaboration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our infrastructure, streamline operations, and enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software development and operational requirements, ensuring seamless integration of DevOps practices.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage and monitor infrastructure, including cloud-based services, servers, and network systems.
  • Perform system troubleshooting, performance optimization, and security enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management and infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts.
  • Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technologies and tools to enhance DevOps processes.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving system documentation.
  • Participate in on-call support and incident response, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • DevOps Tools: Proficiency with popular DevOps tools, including Jenkins, Travis CI, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
  • Version Control: Strong understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Scripting: Excellent scripting skills in languages such as Shell, Python, or Ruby.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Containerization: Knowledge of containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
  • Orchestration: Familiarity with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Cloud Services: Expertise in managing cloud services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Proficient in using monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and New Relic.
  • Security: Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills, as you will work closely with software developers and IT teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
  • Any relevant certifications would be a plus.
